Desktop Support Technician

JUPITER, FL

Are you a highly organized, Desktop Support Technician with the drive to provide hands on support for all users and their environments? The role will cover all aspects of user management covering support, help desk ticket management, purchasing & equipment deployment and coordinating with other IT members for new application deployment.

The IT desktop support technician is dedicated to ensuring Voloridge employees have the necessary resources needed to perform their daily job functions as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Summary of Job Functions

  • Respond to inquiries via Phone, Email, Tickets or in person regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems in accordance with agreed upon SLA’s
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, and software
  • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications
  • Assist in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures for all processes required to maintain the user environment covering laptop build, user creation and all system installations
  • Work closely with our IT team to ensure that all systems are following security and audit requirements
  • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service
  • Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software
  • Record all incidents and requests into Helpdesk system for audit and review ensuring accurate details and categorizations are logged
  • Maintain inventory of all hardware and software systems
  • Procurement of all IT equipment as needed to support systems
  • Communicate effectively with all internal associates, including trading, research, management, development, and operations personnel
  • Maintain currency in all technology policies and procedures and recommend improvements where necessary
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ Years’ Experience with 1st line / 2nd line technical support and managing user requests
  • 2 + Years’ Experience troubleshooting computer problems
  • Experience with local and remote user support including managing new user setup from procurement through onboarding and training
  • Experience inventory management covering hardware & software
  • Experience documenting all processes into SOP’s as required for audit requirements
  • Manage user connectivity to cloud resources covering Office 365, Sharefile & other cloud resources as needed
  • The ability to work daily, onsite in our Jupiter office
  • High level of analytical thinking to solve problems
  • Strong communication skills, must be able to interact with all levels of the business and know what to ask to apply solutions to business problems
  • Quickly learns new skills and takes initiative
  • Light physical exertion, routine bending, and lifting up to 40lbs may be required

Preferred skills and previous experience

  • A+ Certification 
  • Helpdesk Ticket management
  • Windows 10 support experience
  • Laptop Imaging and automation experience
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related field
  • MCP (Modern Desktop) preferred
  • Experience working with a trading / financial / investment / accounting company
  • Team oriented, with strong communication skills
