Data Analyst Manager

JUPITER, FL

We are looking for a Data Analyst Manager to join our growing team of data analysts and data quality analysts, they will provide direction and oversee processes to insure accurate data collection, processing and analysis.  The right person for the job will share their exhaustive knowledge of data analysis to solving real-world problems, finding opportunities for improvement across multiple projects and provide continued insight for relevant domain knowledge.

Summary of Job Functions 

  • Understand the data-related needs of all internal parties, especially our research team
  • Work with Data Analysts to convert dataset requirements and specifications into development plans for data engineering including prototyping and initial dataset samples.
  • Manage data analysts to continually increase subject matter expertise, quality, usability, and transparency in our datasets, as well as improve documentation and QA
  • Develop strategies for measuring and documenting dataset and overall data quality in data processing
  • Collaborate with architects, value owners, project managers, delivery leads, data scientists, engineers, researchers, and support team members to bring big data R&D projects from discovery phases into production
  • Study new topics and gain domain knowledge related to data ingestion, storage, and delivery
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in current and emerging technology and business industry trends
  • Have a consultant mindset, always striving to understand and fulfill the needs of our researchers and traders
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with all internal associates, including research, management, development, and other operations personnel
  • Investigate and troubleshoot data anomalies
  • Represent the Strategy Data Group in internal forums for planning and collaboration
  • Articulate desired outcomes and motivate engineers to develop simple solutions to complex problems
  • Assist with technical skill development and mentorship of junior personnel 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of data analysis work experience in a field such as accounting, finance, business intelligence, or hard sciences 
  • Experience in personnel and technical management of data analyst teams
  • Expertise using Transact-SQL, Python, Tableau and familiarity with other data technologies and tools
  • Experience with both transactional databases and data warehouse
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and flexibility to consider new ideas and approaches
  • The ability to work daily, onsite in our Jupiter, FL office 

Preferred Skills and Previous Experience 

  • Experience using Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio to create/manage SSIS/ ETL packages, especially with high volume data
  • Experience with large scale compute platforms, like MPP RDBS, Hadoop, Spark
  • Experience in performance tuning, server monitoring, and query optimization
  • Strong focus on data quality and attention to detail
  • Able to independently bring projects to successful completion
  • Experience working with trading / financial / investment / accounting data
  • Experience with master data management and data governance
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau, Excel
  • Programming experience, such as Python, Java, C# , VB.net, C, C++
  •  Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a demanding, team-oriented and fast-paced environment
