Health Director of Translational Research

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Translational Research to lead our efforts in bridging the gap between data science research and its application in consumer and provider-focused digital health tools. This role involves translating research findings into actionable insights for product development, ensuring that our innovative health solutions are grounded in the latest scientific discoveries.

Summary of Job Functions

  • Manage and hire the translational research team to connect basic and applied research, translating data science driven discoveries into applications that can directly benefit consumers
  • Lead the buildout of internal knowledge base of interventions through personal knowledge, biomedical literature and research as well as collaboration with internal research and technical departments
  • Conduct research and testing of new technologies and scientific hypotheses and present findings to internal stakeholders. Contribute to the development of new products and services
  • Direct projects, evaluating quality and performance of new tools intended for health assessment to ensure they align with our mission of mitigating disease risk through lifestyle changes  
  • Evaluate the logistics, feasibility, and practicality of applying research findings in real-world settings, including in digital health tools
  • Proactively establish and foster collaborations with external partners, vendors, contract research organizations and internal stakeholders to enhance research outcomes and generate/acquire large-scale datasets, driving the development of impactful digital health solutions
  • Contribute to the development of scientific summaries explaining the latest biomedical  and our own research findings, tailored to various audiences (both internal and external)

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to work onsite in our Jupiter, Florida office (not a remote role)
  • PhD / Master’s or alternative in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Translational Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Exercise Physiology, Clinical Research, or related fields)
  • 10 + years of demonstrated industry experience in translational research.  Proven track record of leadership in research settings, with experience managing collaborative projects that span basic and applied research domains
  • Authorship on relevant scientific publications

Preferred Skills and Previous Experience

  • Demonstrated experience designing, directing and conducting human research studies. Experience with drafting study protocols, working with IRBs, knowledge of regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse team and interacting with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey complex research findings to various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with transparency and maintain alignment with company leadership
  • Broad understanding of the practical aspects of research implementation, including logistics and feasibility studies
  • Knowledge of clinical biomarkers, their utility in prognostics and diagnostics, and their clinical and molecular relevance.  Background in Longevity and Preventative Health Research is preferred
  • General knowledge of data science and willingness to collaborate with data science researchers
