At Voloridge Investment Management we write custom software applications to process high-bandwidth data streams and evaluate decisions within critically defined time constraints. You will have an opportunity to work on novel problems by applying the fundamentals of statistical theory, scientific computation, systems design and software engineering principles. We maintain a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment and work in a collaborate team environment to develop new features and optimize existing processes of our software platform. We are looking for an Intern who enjoys writing code and has an interest in computer architecture and the theory of computing.

Summary of Job Functions

• Contribute to the analysis of data, and the development of applications to support analyses
• Collaborate with team members on the design and implementation of software tools
• Conduct research on data processing, modeling and computation and present findings to the team

Minimum Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering or related discipline
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms and analytical tools
• Experience with Python / R / C / C++ / bash / Linux tools
• Strong math or computing background
• Onsite preferred (Jupiter, FL).  Housing and transportation provided where applicable

Preferred Skills and Previous Experience

• Completion of at least two years of an undergraduate degree
• Knowledge of efficient computation, algorithm implementation, memory architecture
• Extremely detail-oriented and self-motivated
• Highly curious with a deep problem-solving attitude
• Able to work well in a team environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Willing to tackle challenging problems and hungry to learn
• Adaptable and self-motivated
